Good post. You're right. Paper lasts longer than anything. Books will never be replaced. The issue of digital data accessibility is huge and yet to be addressed properly.
Still, you want a back-up to the paper. What if you're not in your office or are somewhere in Nepal when you desperately need something on your yellow pad. We need to think of "redundant systems" - paper and digital with a digital back-up on the Web.
